31 December 2018 - Review of 2018

Its time to take a moment and reflect on the year 2018 and my Salesforce world. Its been a good one! February - London's Calling  The London Community Conference, London's Calling, came calling again for the 3rd year and I was lucky to be selected to be one of their speakers. This year was different for me as I volunteered to help the team to organise the day, by managing all the catering for the event and keeping the speakers to time. For the food I decided to go for pies. They are a great British institution and very warming on a cold winter's day. Just right for a conference. Bolstered with branded cakes, it was a winning formula. Who knew comfort food would be so popular... My talk was about How CPQ Gave Visibility, Control and Lessons Learnt for a Business. I had just completed my first CPQ implementation and wanted to share what I had learnt from this journey. CPQ is still quite a specialist field of knowledge and I wanted to highlight how best ...

23 December 2018 - London Admins Community Group, let’s look back on the year

Couple of weeks ago we held the Salesforce Community Xmas Mega Meet at IBM. It’s good to get the main London groups together as in reality we are members of more than one group and so we often inter-mingle on a regular basis. Let’s start with the main stats that I shared at the mega meet Christmas party: We had 13 sponsors supporting our events across the year, in various locations in central London. We are very lucky that London has a large Salesforce Community with suppliers to the industry wanting to support us. We’re genuinely thankful for your enthusiasm and delighted to work with you. We are a blended community. We covered a whole range of subje...

18 December 18 - Taking time to be inspired at TEDx

A few Saturday’s ago I was lucky enough to attend my first TEDx London conference event. Its focus was on London Women and the theme for the day was ‘Showing up’ and to highlight the challenges that people are facing every day while trying to shape the future we all want to see. The aim of the event was about starting a movement of ideas that nurture hope, positivity and resilience - ideas that can change the world. As a conference speaker, and now co-organiser of the London’s Calling Community Conference, within the Salesforce circuit, I looked at the TEDx event with different viewpoints, consumer, speaker and organiser.  The Consumer: The venue was large and easy to get to on the Southbank. The organisers had arranged a deal with the food stalls outside with discounts on some and the ability to bring food inside. Upon registration we were given a goody bag, with items such as a notebook and snacks to keep you going throughout the day and other bits and bobs from sponsor...
